Abstract: There are so many ways to do empirical research. Most often than not, researchers disagree about what are the best ways. Many students and early-career researchers can get lost in these debates. In this talk, I will provide an overview of empirical research and offer some advice on choosing the right ways.

Dr.Ho Hoang Anh has been working as a lecturer at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics by the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. His research areas are Economic Development, Institutions, Culture; East Asia, Southeast Asia, Vietnam.
