Hans Lööf là một nhà kinh tế học và là Giáo sư danh dự ngành Kinh tế tại Viện Công nghệ Hoàng gia (KTH). Nền tảng học thuật của ông gắn liền với Thụy Điển, khi ông nhận bằng Cử nhân (1987) và Thạc sĩ (1993) ngành Kinh tế tại Đại học Gothenburg, sau đó hoàn thành bằng Tiến sĩ Kinh tế tại KTH vào năm 2002. Trước đó, ông từng giữ vị trí Phó Giáo sư tại Trường Kinh doanh Quốc tế Jönköping trước khi được bổ nhiệm làm Giáo sư Kinh tế tại KTH vào năm 2009, vị trí mà ông đảm nhiệm cho đến khi chuyển sang статус Giáo sư danh dự vào năm 2025.

Hans Lööf is a distinguished economist and Emeritus Professor of Economics at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). His academic background is rooted in Sweden, having earned his BA (1987) and Master’s (1993) in Economics from the University of Gothenburg, followed by a PhD in Economics from KTH in 2002. He previously held an Associate Professorship at Jönköping International Business School before being appointed Professor of Economics at KTH in 2009, a position he maintained until transitioning to Emeritus status in 2025.

His research interests are broad and multidisciplinary, focusing on the economics of innovation, economic growth, and green economics. He also specializes in international and regional economics, entrepreneurship, econometrics, and sustainable finance. This expertise has earned him a ranking in the top 5% of economists in Europe and the European Union according to the IDEAS database.

Lööf has published over 50 journal articles in esteemed titles such as Research Policy, The Scandinavian Journal of Economics, The World Economy, and Economics of Innovation and New Technology. His recent work includes analyzing refugee wage premia in the ILR Review and the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian war on the bioeconomy. Additionally, he is an active editor for major publishers like Oxford University Press, Routledge, and Edward Elgar. He co-edited the book Innovation and Growth and serves on the editorial group for the ESG financing handbook. He is currently a Guest Professor at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.
