Abstract: 

History used to enjoy a prestigious position within economics in the first half but lost its fortune in the second half of the twentieth century. In recent years, however, history has made an impressive comeback in the profession. This talk will discuss the role of history in economic research in general and explain its recent return. In addition, I will also give a brief description to a new research area lying in the intersect between various scientific disciplines, with a special focus on Vietnam.

Presenter: 

Hoang-Anh Ho is currently Economics a PhD Candidate at Department of Economics, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He also a lecture at School of Economics, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), Vietnam. Hoang-Anh’s primary research focuses on development economics among his research interests. Hoang-Anh achieved his MS in Economics from University of Gothenburg in 2013.
