Vietnam – The Netherlands Programme (VNP): Enrolment Notification for MDE 2017

Vietnam – The Netherlands Programme (VNP) for M.A. in Development Economics (MDE) was initiated in 1994 under the cooperation between University of Economics HCMC (UEH) and The International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), Erasmus Rotterdam University (EUR). The programme is taught in English. Most of lecturers, native Vietnamese or foreign lecturers, graduated from universities abroad.

The programme equips students with knowledge of analytical applied economics, finance, policies, as well as research skill and critical thinking skills in the context of an unstable world economy.

Students graduated from the programme are qualified to work in varioussectors of economy, banks, investment fund and financial markets, universities, research institutes or policy making agencies. Moreover, VNP provides students with all required research skills to follow a PhD. Programme in foreign countries.

Certification: Master of Arts Degree in Development Economics, signed by University of Economics HCMC and a certificate confirming the cooperation between UEH and ISS, signed by ISS.

Academic requirements: applicants under the following conditions are considered as eligible candidates to attend entrance exams:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics major (regular/irregular systems) from a University of Economics or from a Faculty of Economics of non-economics universities; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in non-economics major (regular systems) with a certificate of passing additional economic courses organized by Institute of Post-graduate Training of UEH or additional courses in English, Basic Statistics, Mathematics in Economics, and Economics delivered by VNP and 2 other subjects.

English requirement: CEFR B2, TOEIC 600, IELTS 5.5, TOEFL 500 BPT, 173 CBT, 61 iBT)
