The Undergraduate Real Estate Program at the University of Economics – HCMC provides undergraduate education in real estate development and investment which embraces social and environmental sustainability. With real estate knowledge and skills, program graduates will become the practitioners and experts of the 21st century. They will understand the complex relationship between urban development at various scales and sustainable development, and the importance of corporate social responsibilities.

The Program’s values add on to the important core values of the School of Economics, namely professionalism, integrity, cooperation, and respect for differences. Courses required by the Program

The students will be enrolled in 12 courses required for both majors in real estate. The offerings consist of courses commonly required for the students in different programs at the School of Economics and those belonging to the Real Estate Program. It is expected that the students will complete most of those courses at the end of their 2nd year.

Major selection

In the 3rd year, the students declare their major and select courses pertaining to Real Estate Investment or Real Estate Development tracks. In each track, the students take 15 credits of required courses and take 9 credits of electives to fulfill a total of 24 credits required by the major. The courses will come from different departments and programs across campus.

 

Real Estate Investment

This major is intended for those who are interested in the financial and investment aspect of real estate business. The course offering allows the students to work with those in finance backgrounds from the university and the industry.

Real Estate Development

This major is intended for those who seek to develop a comprehensive understanding of the real estate business cycle and to work with developers, sales, marketing, and project teams. Most of courses required by the major are led by industry professionals.

Internship

The Program offers a diverse selection to help the students fulfill the requirement of graduation. The student may choose between conducting a research and doing an internship. And in addition to the regular internship program, the Program works with several real estate companies to develop job-shadowing internship targeting students who need one to one mentoring and guidance. The students are guaranteed to work specifically with a managing level person until the internship is over. The students learn on the job skills by shadowing the mentor in his or her work.
